Hi, thanks for checking out my website! I am excited to tell you a little bit more about myself…
The Beginning:
"Stuck" three quarters up a climbing wall at a Challenge/Ropes Course in high school was my first "a-ha" moment in the potential of every human and every experience. I thought I was done but they said I had to ring the bell at the top. The facilitators down below coached me into different hand and foot holds. I didn't really believe I could make it to the top but I did what they suggested; I stepped into a different position and found that I wasn't stuck at all. I easily made my way up to the top, rang the bell, whooped a mighty whoop and looked down seeing how far I had come. I was totally exhilarated!
It was THE defining moment in my life. I had put a limit on myself but with the proper coaching and encouragement I far exceeded that limit, and the feeling of accomplishment was amazing. I decided then and there that that's what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to help people far exceed the limits they set for themselves with the right amount of teaching, facilitating, coaching and encouraging.
I discovered my passion that day - the passion to challenge myself to explore my personal potential and to help others explore theirs...
The climbing wall experience you just read about led me to choose Occupational Therapy as a career. But more than a career to me, the Occupational Therapy philosophy of using purposeful activities (things we like to do) to achieve more independence, health and wellness in one’s life serves as a guiding light along the journey of our human development.
What this means to you is that I love being a coach and cheerleader on your path to optimum health and balanced wellness. Coming from a family of engineers, I have a deep appreciation for systems that produce effective results efficiently. I’ve done the research and now seek to provide you with the education, resources, and therapies designed to most empower you to feel good in your body and in your life.
Originally hailing from the midwest, I found home in Colorado in 2000 and have lived in Old Town Louisville since 2004. My husband, kids and I, thoroughly enjoy all that Colorado has to offer - from sunrises at the dog park to hiking to microbrews to yoga and more.
